Gomila is the revitalization project for one of the most historic neighborhoods in Palma: El Terreno. The renovation of four buildings and the construction of three new ones around Plaza Gomila marks a before and after in the history of the neighborhood and the city. MVRDV and GRAS have been the architecture studios in charge of carrying out this project, which aims to create a vibrant, sustainable neighborhood, full of color and new bars, businesses and restaurants. A neighborhood that once again places Plaza Gomila and El Terreno as one of the most important cultural epicenters in Palma.

The ideal location of El Terreno and its eclectic community of neighbors have created a neighborhood with a unique personality. Snacks Bestard, Contain Studio, the famous Nito's chickens, the top of the stairs of Calle Menéndez Pelayo or the Bellver forest are some of the businesses and landscapes that belong to this place.

Between the 1950s and 1960s, El Terreno and Plaza Gomila experienced a kind of dolce vita that saw Kirk Douglas and Ava Gardner pass by the El Patio restaurant, which captivated Errol Flynn at the bar at Bar Joe's and which impacted the Marlene Dietrich herself with the dome of Tito's nightclub. As Carlos Llop said, «Gomila was the agora and it was Babel».
